Next Saturday, Gene Luen Yang, of American Born Chinese fame, will be at the National Book Festival. Mere steps away, Nick Abadzis, creator of Laika. will be at the Air and Space Museum’s Family Day: Commemorating 50 Years in Space (although he’s not listed on that particular page).
I’m probably just going to go to Gene Luen Yang’s reading (can you read from a comic book?) and question-and-answer session since my copy of American Born Chinese is already signed. And I will try not to cry on Nick Abadzis. Maybe at some point I can be rational and calm and write a review of Laika, but I think it’s going to take a while.
