Not really comic book related (although a case can be made for an overlap of fans), but Stephanie Zacharek makes good counterpoints here (Salon.com article–requires registration or viewing of an ad) to Caryn James’ assertion that The Lord of the Rings is for men (New York Times–requires registration). Same can be said for all genres and mediums of popular culture–comic books included.
