It was very solid, it had action, adventure, humor… Steve Trevor… Extremely well done in my opinion.

I will probably write on it at greater length sometime soon, but I wanted to watch it before I commented on that awful quote.

I don’t know why people always have to take the provocative angle on things. I didn’t read that quote in context, but it bothers me when people spin things in such a negative way, especially without the benefit of understanding what they are talking about.

The direct to video animated comic book movie is an avenue that Marvel and DC have both been devoting some effort to. The ghetto she refers to also contains Dr. Strange, Batman, Superman, The Avengers, The Hulk… maybe more, definitely more on the way. I realize some of those folks have gotten their own Live action movies, but not all of them. You aren’t neglecting a character by putting it in it’s own feature, you are showcasing it.

DC did a good bit of advertising for the Superman/Doomsday straight to video animated feature, but I feel like they have gone all out with the advertising. I love that Wonder Woman is on the back of seemingly everything with Marvel on the cover. It has also been advertised HEAVILY on the Marvel Digital Comics site.

I have always loved and respected the character as an icon in the DC mythology, but mostly I have only really found myself a fan of the animated Wonder Woman from the Justice League cartoons, and now from this. There is surely room for improvement, but if DC pushes more WW projects with the quality of this one (now that they got the origin out of the way) I think they will be setting her up for renewed success and greater popular interest.
